After several months of intensive refurbishment the Novotel London City South is now ready to reveal its new face
AccorInvest is willing to break hospitality codes to provide guests and external users with a better experience, in line with today’s expectations. Comfort, friendliness & entertainment are the key drivers.
Launched in 2016, the aim of the project was to reinvent the lobby and enlarge upon its traditional role as a reception area to turn it into a real living space, not only for business travellers and tourists exploring the capital but also for Londoners themselves. It is now possible to have a meal, get a drink, work, or just relax, all this in a friendly, design and resolutely contemporary surroundings.
Design and sustainable development
The traditional reception desk has disappeared and been replaced by a cosy loft atmosphere. High quality materials such as marble, wood and metal have been used and combined with up to date furniture in neutral and colourful tones. For AccorInvest’s Construction and Technical team, the most important thing was to create a design both aesthetic and sustainable to achieve the double objective of ensuring excellent customer service and meeting current environmental requirements.
The Gourmet House, a live concept
In an area where restaurants abound, something exceptional was called for and the Gourmet House fits the bill. The new F&B space is a relaxed and tastefully furnished setting. The menu consists of a simple, well-balanced and authentic cuisine, popular contemporary dishes such as burgers or buddha bowls, sharing platters made with selected products from Borough Market or pizzas cooked in an Italian oven for a perfect crust! The bar offers an attractive choice of craft beers, gins and wines. Concerts and DJ-sets are now a feature on Thursday and Saturday evenings.
