For the first time, AccorInvest was part of the largest real estate fair in Europe as an exhibitor in Muenchen.
From 07th till 9th of October, the management of AccorInvest, together with a global team, used our booth at the World of Hospitality (Hall A2) at Expo Real to represent AccorInvest in the real estate sector and to make it known better. The focus was to maintain existing business contacts and to attract new ones.
The asset management team based in Munich, as well used our booth for negotiations, contract agreements and for maintaining contacts.
We were also represented at the lectures. Andrea Agrusow was part of a discussion on “Asset light in danger?”. Among other things, she talked about the two pillars of our strategy: to be both owner and operator of hotels.
“Our strategy is asset heavy for 3 reasons. First of all, this gives us opportunity to create value. Secondly, we have full control over the assets and are not dependent on the owners. And finally, we can defend certain business risks because we have two pillars: owner and operator. We believe this strategy doesn’t increase risk, but decrease it.” (Andrea Agrusow, COO Central Europe).
Michael Verhoff (Director Human Resources Central Europe) represented AccorInvest as an employer in a panel of experts. In doing so, he focused on further education and career opportunities for young talents. Here, too, the special feature of AccorInvest as a combination of real estate and hospitality industry became clear. When asked about career opportunities for graduates, he replied:
“We are always looking for young talent. The beauty of our hybrid between real estate and operations is, that there is a wide range of possibilities. On top there is the international character of our company. If you want to, you can constantly evolve together with the company. With us you won’t get bored – we always have enough to do.“
As a result of team effort, it was possible to clearly position AccorInvest in the real estate world during the fair. That’s what made the fair a large success for us.
