At the MIPIM Awards on September 15th, the Jo&Joe Paris Gentilly Hotel won the « Best Hotel – Tourism Resort » award. Owned by AccorInvest, the hotel has been awarded for its Open House design, a Street Art concept that invites itself inside for a relaxed and unusual atmosphere.
For the 2020 Mipim Awards, the Jury, chaired by Méka Brunel, Ceo of Gecina, studied 228 nominations from around the world to select the best projects for the 11 categories. In its category (Best Hotel – Tourism), the Jo&Joe Paris Gentilly stood out against three major competitors.s.
Halfway between the hostel and the traditional hotel, the Jo&Joe Paris Gentilly encourages relaxation as well as partying in an environment that reconciles a friendly place of life (thanks to shared rooms, regularly organized events in the hotel) and modernity (meeting room, technological equipment…).
Launched in 2016, it manages to attract a younger and more nomadic clientele than traditional hotels, with its idea of “outside inside” designed by Penson architect’s office, which makes it a unique place where all categories of travelers meet.
Designed by architect Jean-Paul Viguier, the hotel features a wooden structure and iridescent aluminum sheet that absorbs light into a veil of colors that changes throughout the day.
Jo&Joe Paris Gentilly is divided between inventiveness, freedom and responsible commitment. The construction of this hotel is the first in the world to have been awarded the new reference low carbon building label, “BBCA”, created by the Association for Low Cardbon Building Development, based on its exemplary work on the carbon footprint. This label certifies compliance with stringent criteria for sustainable construction, operations, carbon storage and circular economy.
AccorInvest’s sustainability and innovation commitments and skills in projects put its achievements in the spotlight.
